All About Me
Dawn - edging ever closer to 30, although I still feel like I'm 21. :) I'm married to a youth pastor ('Big G'), and have THREE wonderful kids: a five year-old son ('Little G'), a just turned two year-old daughter ('A'), and our newest little girl blessing, Baby R, was born May 28/07!! They keep me hopping as I juggle them, my WAH part-time job as an accountant, being a pastor's wife, and of course hobbies like quilting, scrapbooking, and blogging!

She's here!
I know, it's been forever! I want to post here more regularly, and now that I'm not working I'm hoping I'll have time, but I just wanted to let everyone know that our third child, Rachel Wendy Elizabeth, arrived by c-section on May 28th at 8:01am. I was definitely disappointed that things ended in a c-section, but at least I went quickly this time!! I didn't really start having contractions until we went to bed around 11:30pm, and I just couldn't fall asleep. I woke Big G around 3:00am, and we headed to the hospital shortly after.

When we arrived around 4:30am, I was already at 6cm, and things kept progressing quickly after that. I started pushing around 6:00am, and after an hour or so, they decided that she was just not descending and a c-section was necessary. I was having awful back labor again and was just happy to see the happy little man who gave me the spinal so the pain would go away! Rachel's heartbeat had been going down during contractions and pushing, and although the doctor didn't seem overly worried, it was definitely concerning me, and I was glad to have her out safely.

I've been healing well and doing well emotionally for the most part. I am starting to get very restless with the physical restrictions of the surgery, and am trying hard to keep taking it easy, even though I feel great (mostly because I know Big G will have a fit if I hurt myself doing something I wasn't supposed to do!). I'm also starting to want to do...something, anything. The bigger kids go to bed before 8, but Rachel's fussy in the evenings, so I can kind of play on the computer with one hand while I nurse/hold her, but that's it. I can feel myself starting to despair that I'll never scrapbook, quilt, etc, ever again!

Here are a few pics of our newest blesing, I'll probably take them down in a few days, but just wanted to show her off for now. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS Dawn (and family!) She is a princess indeed and I LOVE the pics! Can't wait to see you on the board when you get a little more free time (OK, with 3 small kids, your time must be VERY limited right now) but we're certainly not going anywhere ... Enjoy this very special time :) Can't wait to see more of Ms. Rachel as well as hear how the others are adjusting. Take care (((Hugs)))
